Holistic learning is all about nurturing the whole child.
It recognises that children’s learning, emotions, relationships, physical development, creativity and sense of belonging are all connected. A child learns through playing, exploring, wondering, creating, moving, talking, making friends, taking risks and feeling safe and loved.
Holistic Learning is so much more than learning the letters of the alphabet and our numbers. It’s about discovering who you are, learning how to be with others, exploring the world, building confidence, getting messy, asking questions, creating, moving, laughing and feeling that you belong. Holistic learning means nurturing every little part of a child as they grow.

Our aim is a pretty simple one, to create a dream place for children that’s warm, friendly, safe and nurturing, paired with learning experiences that stimulate and challenge each child’s own strengths, needs and interests. Welcome to our Learning Rooms
At Sunshine, we welcome children from 6 weeks right through to school age, across five Learning Rooms. Each room has its own rhythm, shaped around what children actually need at that age.
What stays the same in every room is the Sunshine way: we care about who our children are becoming, not just what they can do. That means real relationships, room to feel things and work them out, the confidence to try, and the beginnings of knowing how to be a good friend. We think children learn better when they’re genuinely interested, so that’s what we build toward, in every room, every day.
Our Snugglepots Room (0-2 age group) is a homelike, nurturing environment. Each baby/toddler has their own individual routine and is loved, snuggled, stimulated and nurtured throughout the whole day.
We are continually building on their early gross motor and early fine motor skills through creative arts, music and movement, sensory experiences, experimentation, with many different materials and textures and exploring their outside area.
Language development and developing positive friendships with their peers is also a big focus. The children have lots of time to explore.
Lots of love and cuddles are shared in this room.
Our Bumblebees age group provides a warm and caring environment focusing on trust and well-being. We focus on building positive relationships and friendships, language, independence and negotiation techniques.
We want our children to feel supported while exploring through play. Every child has endless opportunities to learn and grow with our program and we love helping to answer as many `why?` questions our Bumblebees have for us!

Our Kindergarten Program embraces the inclusive vision that “all children experience learning that is engaging and builds success for life.”
The program focuses on enriching each child’s life and most importantly concentrating on the skills that our children will need to start Prep.
We are incredibly passionate about our Kindergarten Program and equipping our boys and girls with as many skills as possible for their journey into big school. Our Dragonflies are supported in developing letter and number recognition, science and maths concepts, technology skills and social competence in this year prior to school.
Our Dragonflies focus on creating a life-long love of learning through experimentation and exploration. We promote the social, intellectual and physical growth of each child. We strive to create an environment that enhances a child’s self-image, self-direction, and self-motivation. A very important focus for us is ensuring our children are socially and emotionally ready to start school and know how to form and maintain friendships.
We want all Dragonflies to achieve in their learning room and thrive in the playground. We expose them to as many learning experiences as possible. We encourage them to develop their independence and to help out in any way possible. We create a sense of responsibility with all our Dragonflies.
